frankly speaking, i did not interested in this movie because it was to slow both the story line and the sound quality.
but what i understand was, the teacher try to encourage the girls at that time to go for what they deserved. because that time women seem to be end up as housewife only, even though they are brilliant and academically qualified.
kristin dunst in this movie is the enemy of the teacher's ambition. she is the one who write and critic the teacher. but at the end she knew that she suffered.
